Personalization of audio and video streaming
Today there are lot of blogs, news agencies, magazines and so on that publish content on the internet. People communicating and interacting with each other using social networks, e-mail and even share their medical data on google. All these information, data and messages are out there on the internet any time and often they can be accessed from any where and any time.
Also content providers discovered the internet. Sites like Last.FM provides a individual radio program for their users. Most TV broadcaster has their own streaming community where live but also archived content is distributed to a wide range of internet users. Internet radio allow you to listen to your favorite radio station all over the globe. This is interesting espacially for people from foreign contries. Not all but a lot of this content can be accessed by streaming and this is the point where the idea of personalization of media streaming has started.
My diploma thesis deals with this personalization and the design and implementation of a system that allows you to listen to music from diverse sources like mp3′s on your hard disk, Last.FM, podcast or a internet radio station of your choice using an UPnP-AV streaming client like the NOXON iRadio.
